Project Presentations, Advertisment, 3D Animations
Archaeological excavations, plans or remains of buildings are extremely interesting, but they are often not enough for us to imagine what a place looked like hundreds of years ago. However, 3D technologies are coming to the rescue, proving that they will also work well in the field of science.
Thanks to the joint efforts of archaeologists, architects and graphic artists, the original appearance of the two monasteries has been restored.
In cooperation with the scientific staff, we have created a platform called “Virtual Nubia”, which allows you to move to the sandy land, which today lies on the territory of Sudan and Egypt, and take a virtual walk. Yes, 3D technologies make such things possible! It was a very interesting experience to recreate what no longer exists today. Thanks to VR technology we can move to ancient Nubia and feel the atmosphere of this place.
Based on plans and sections prepared by the architects, as well as photos from archaeological documentation, our graphic artists have recreated the ancient frescoes and created an accurate 3D model of each building. Interior models for each room were also created.
Then we proceeded to combine the models, recreating the full monastery establishment, and then to texture the surface.
Such a wide range of reconstructions made it possible to finally create a virtual walk-through, allowing viewers to visit selected rooms. The final stage of work was to place the elements in the Sketchfab web rendering engine.
