Together with JSW Innowacje and the Main Mining Institute, we implement new technologies in mining using Virtual Reality (VR) for the purposes of health and safety training. Using VR, we give a chance to experience extreme events in mining, from rockfall and methane fires to coal dust explosions. Thanks to this, your employees receive a safe space and the opportunity to learn about the often unpredictable work environment. Before the implementation of the 3D project, we try to gain experience in real conditions. Thanks to that, we care about technical details and transfer the specific climate of the implemented environment.

VR application users have the opportunity to move to the mine, mining areas, familiarize themselves with the work environment, and with dangerous situations related to the exploitation of the rock mass. The project developed by our studio which arouses the interest of invited guests and participants of conversations until today serves the brand as a showcase example of modern and innovative solutions that they introduce in their industry.

Mobility

Full freedom of movement in the virtual 3D space is provided by the motion controllers and the teleport system we used in our VR applications. Thanks to this, despite the physical space limiting us, such as the room in which we conduct training or obstacles in the form of furniture, we can move around any size of 3D locations, taking part in virtual training by visiting entire industrial complexes.

Interactiona

Interactive 3D objects are nothing more than virtual avatars of real work tools. Control elements, tools or entire systems can be presented in the VR world so that their functionality does not differ from the actual prototypes. As a result, safety training enter an unprecedented level of realism simulating natural phenomena or failures that the user will face.

Threats

In order to give the fire conditions in the underground conditions as faithfully as possible, we gathered experience at the KD Barbara facility. Thanks to the presentation, we were able to faithfully present the fire danger, and program the user’s interaction with the elements that are included in the section, thanks to which the fire can be mastered.

Extreme situations

The extreme phenomenon that can occur during mining operations is the explosion of coal dust. Thanks to the VR application, the user can directly experience visually destructive strength and survival, increasing his sensitivity to the symptoms of an approaching disaster, or gaining positive health and safety habits in the workplace.
